As nice a filly on type as there was in the Karaka Book Two catalogue, this girl is as good a chance as any to be running around in Oaks races in 2027/28.

A Derby and multiple stakes winning son of High Chaparral, Ace High is rapidly showing himself to be a great source of New Zealand stamina. Importantly, six of his seven stakes-performers to date are fillies, the like of Molly Bloom, My Lips Are Sealed, Drakaina and the ultra-progressive She’s a Hustler, high up in 2026 Cups markets.

Out of a family that knocks up producing winners, this filly has it all ahead of her. Her dam is now two from two at stud after the recent win of Cuesta in a $60k Super Maiden at Newcastle, with that mare now placed nine times from 11 race starts. The mare’s next in line, now 2yo Atlanta Ace, was purchased at this same sale last year for $145k and is held in very high regard by her trainer Roger James.

Our filly’s grand dam, Arthena, has the amazing feat of having had 10 to the races for 10 winners, including stakes-winners Justamaiz and Zabisco. When you consider the stallions she visited - St Petersburg, Zabeel, Postponed, Roc de Cambes, Bachelor Duke, Guillotine and Sweynesse, she’s done a pretty remarkable job.

The filly will now spell at Hallmark Stud, Te Kauwhata before being flown to Australia in early April to be broken in. She’s a beautiful filly and one we will give every chance to fulfil her potential over staying trips.
