This filly stood out for John Price from first inspection and continued to make her way through every cull of the shortlists. She stood out for John for two reasons, one she can stop and turn on a sixpence which is one of his key criteria to test the athleticism of a horse.  And the other is unquantifiable “ I just like her, she is different, just like her, nice horse, can’t explain why but we need to buy her” And buy her we did , we paid the paltry sum of $10,000 and we’d be very confident we paid significant unders for her.

She is by second season sire Acrobat. On the racetrack Acrobat was a speedster, he broke the track record on debut when winning the $500k Inglis Nursery. He is bred in the purple being by Fastnet Rock and he hails from the family of Lake Geneva and Ennis Hill. He stands at the Coolmore powerhouse and that will ensure he gets every opportunity in the breeding barn.

Our filly is the first foal out of Endorphins who was a four time winner from 1300m to 2200m. She is a half sister to Cape Kidnappers, a nine time winning speed machine and also to Racecourse Road again a nine time winning sprinter. The family just win and we have this filly in the no brainer purchase bracket.

And if you need any more convincing she scores 20/20 with our preferred pedigree matrix G1 Goldmine. It’s a similar cross to the likes of Bivouac, Rebel Dane and Cape Kidnappers, in short fast horses.

She will be trained by one of the rising stars of Victorian racing Ben Brisbourne. Ben trains from his country base in Wangaratta and successfully raids both sides of the VIC/NSW border. And be very confident this is a young trainer that knows how to train a two year old filly. This season he has produced Grinzinger Heart to win the Group 2 VRC Sires at Flemington and Salann to runs second on her debut at Headquarters in the Group 3 Tbred Breeders. And as an aside, how much was Salann as a yearling ? She was $10,000, further evidence to buy the one you want.
