Our first purchase at our home sale. We secured Lot 119 - Artorius x Impulse Control for $120,000 from Supreme Thoroughbreds. This is the first crop of yearlings by the Blue Diamond and Canterbury Stakes winner and I've liked the way his stock has presented across the sales so far so am pleased to land one for the stable.

He was a brilliant racehorse and a magnificent looking stallion. 

Impulse Control was a fast mare! She won five races from 1100m to 1250m and over $160,000 in prizemoney. She was a City-winning Exceed And Excel filly and is a half to a dual-Group 1 winner.

Shane trained Impulse Control as a young horse and she showed a bit of talent but had some early soundness issues. It was very pleasing to see her go on and still win that much in prizemoney and win at Metro level. This is her first foal and Shane was keen to buy her progeny in the future because he knew what sort of ability she had. 

Exceed And Excel added his 19th individual Group 1 winner as a broodmare sire at the weekend with Tempted's win in the Surround. His daughters have also produced the likes of Tentyris and Tropicus who have added Group 1's this season as well as Alizee, Astern and Anthony Van Dyck.

This filly is eligible for the Inglis Race Series as well as the Inglis Xtra Maidens which have a $100,000 prize attached to them. We were fortunate to win one with Always Enuff, who was also purchased at the Melbourne Premier Sale and it's a great opportunity to get off to a great start winning your first race with that sort of purse attached.

She's a neat filly, moves well, and won't take long at all to be up and going.
