The Capricornia Yearling Sale in Rockhampton was a sale we were keen to support. Our ownership base is very strong in the region and racing is such a vibrant and crucial part of the community. With this in mind, our bloodstock agent John Foote ventured up to Rockhampton to source us the winner of next year’s lucrative & exclusive 2YO Classic for sale graduates.

We came away with Lot 21, a colt by leading Queensland stallion Better Than Ready out of 11-time city winning mare Gypsy Secret, who is also the half-sister to the dual stakes placed and 12-time winner Freddie Fox Trot. We secured him for $54,000.

The colt was the best pedigreed horse in the sale, and we look forward to getting him broken-in straight away and set for a 2yo campaign.

He is QTIS Fully Paid, and we will give him every chance of being back in the Capricornia 2YO race this time next year. We are really excited to have this colt in the stable and give back to the many people from the region who support our stable.

The 2-day carnival has $640,000 in Prizemoney with the 2-year-old race worth $168,000 and the 3YO-and-4YO race worth $118,000. This year's catalogue had 113 lots only so over the next 3 years they are the only horses that can compete in the Sales Races.

He also can chase the QTIS bonuses. Better Than Ready is an outstanding stallion and with the mare being a prolific city-winning mare he has as good a chance as anything else to be a success on the track.
