Well bred 3 year old colt
BOTANIST
Viva Racing is delighted to have purchase well-bred three-year-old colt, Botanist who has huge racing upside.
A $900,000 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale graduate, Botanist is by top stallion Wootton Bassett and is the third foal for the outstanding juvenile Tulip who was a $1,000,000 earner during her career.
Tulip was a multiple Group 3 winner on the track and finished third in the Group 1 Golden Slipper as a two-year-old. She also hails from a family of Group performers Sacred Eye, Les Vampires and Sirkosky.
Botanist broke his Maiden over 1400m at Warwick Farm in December, having been runner-up over 1300m in his previous start.
He is only lightly raced with five career starts to date.
Botanist will have the ultimate gear change next week and we believe gelding will further improve his performances on the racetrack.
Botanist will be trained by Matthew Dunn at Murwillumbah with the aiming of targeting Highway races in Sydney and Brisbane Metro races. We believe he can also progress onto million-dollar feature races such as the NSW Country Championships and Kosciusko in years to come.
Viva Racing has had great success with this model and previous tried horse purchases including Listed winner Snitz, six-time city winner Nashira and recent highway winner Kingdom Undersiege - just to name a few.
