This year we have managed to secure some amazing lease opportunities for our owners and there is none better than this CASTELVECCHIO 2yo filly out of one of the best families in the Stud Book.

Bred and raised by one of Victoria's most successful studs (RUSHTON PARK), this filly has the pedigree and looks to develop into a classic middle distance staying filly. CASTELVECCHIO is proving to be a star young stallion and now stands at Arrofield Stud for a fee of $45,000. 



She has just completed her first preparation at our stables in Pakenahm (see video below) which she breezed through showing maturity and professionalism beyond her years.

The Castelvecchio fillies (like the Dundeel fillies) can be on the hot/fizzy side and can sometime lack physical presence common with that sireline. However, this filly has an even temperature and a good attitude to work and is very well built which we love about her. 

She will be aimed at all the classic filly races next Spring including the Wakeful Stakes and Oaks. She is currently enjoying a Spring spell and will return to the stable in December. 

The breeders have a big opinion and high hopes for this filly and will be racing this filly with us. A limited number of shares have been made available for our owners to lease which is a great opportunity to invest in a well bred filly who is already educated and well on the way to becoming a successful racehorse. 

The breeders have paid for all her breaking in and early educations costs so lease-holders will only have to start paying for their share of her upkeep from 1 November 2025. 

The lease terms are as follows:

Term - 3 years with a right to extend by a further year

Prizemoney Split - 80/20 which means that the breeders receive 20% of prizemoney and the lease-holders receive 80%. 

We have successfully leased many horses over the years including Miss Mo, Le Derriere, Native Girl et al. The great thing about leasing horses is that you don't have a big lump sum investment -  you just pay your share of the training expenses throughout the career of the horse.

If the horse is injured or doesn't measure up, we have the right to cancel and terminate the lease early and return the filly to the breeders. On the other hand, if she ends up being as serious horse, you get to race her for the entire term of the lease.

Lease-holders receive all the same rights and benefits as any owner would including:

* Be part of the naming process 
* Name in Racebook 
* Normal Raceday entitlements
* Payment directly from Racing Victoria
