This Son of Dissident is a striking gelding who in training at Matt Cumani Racing. Brimac Racing is excited to be consigned to obtaining new owners for this exciting race horse, with the current owning remaining in the ownership group.

Bred on the highly rated Dissident x Commands cross. Dissident is a sire of tough, sound horses that pay their way. Most recently his successful stakes winning progeny Diss is Dramatic, Pancho, Yes Baby Yes, Bigboyroy and Rebel Rama have thrilled racegoers.

Dissident was a winner at 2 over 1000m and as a tough very versatile 3 and 4 year old won 14 Group 1, 2 and 3 races from 1200 to 1600 metres. Sheeza Menzies (the dam) is a quality 16.2hd mare, who throws big strong foals of calm temperament.

Teddy Bear (Dissident Woods) will be her first to race. Her dam was the highly successful Mrs Menzies by Commands who had 13 wins from 1150m to 1800m and was a speedy 2 year old winner. 

Bred by owner/breeder Rikki McDonald (Dunwoody, Sky Sista) to be an early 2 year old type. Rikki sent him to Shane Rose to be broken in, where he received glowing reports from the Olympic Gold Medalist and specialist racehorse pre trainer. Shane described him as “a lovely big strong colt. Very forward”.

Ms McDonald has retained majority ownership of the horse in confidence of his ability.Trained by Matt Cumani, Ballarat (currently sitting at no 5 on the Victorian Trainer's Premiership with a 47.7% current win rate, and a 13% annual win rate). Matt is very pleased with Dissident Woods and thinks highly of him. Matt said “He has really taken to being a racehorse and loves his work”.
