We’re Claiming This Dundeel Gelding As Our Best Value Buy of the 2025 Yearling Sales Season!

Every horse has a story! This gelding by the Champion racehorse and now outstanding stallion DUNDEEL was originally passed in at the 2025 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale. Our bloodstock genius John Price was straight on to it, and as he’d already seen and loved the horse, we made them an offer and they accepted.

Fast forward 12 hours or so, and early the next morning, we received a call from leading trainer Mick Price asking if he could train the horse for us. Mick explained that he already had a Dundeel for sale and so didn’t want to buy another one, but this one was definitely on his list at the sale. When he checked the sales results and saw that we’d bought him, he wasn’t shy in calling us to see if he could get the colt in his stable. And of course, we said yes. Since teaming up a few years ago, it seems like they train big race winners for fun. Ok, it costs a few dollars a day more to have a horse in their stable, but we can assure you it’s worth it. This is a stable that turns good horses into great ones. Could he be another Extreme Choice? A Warmonger? Whatever his path, he'll get every opportunity to succeed under the best possible care with Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr.

Dundeel has firmly established himself as a sire of elite colts. Think of horses like Celestial Legend, Castelvecchio, Dunkel and Super Seth—all Group 1 winners. He was a champion on the track, and in the breeding barn, he’s produced a very impressive 33 stakes winners and eight Group 1 victors.

Our geldings Dam, Rapid Rose, was a 1200m winner, and his second dam, River Woman, was a multiple city winner in Victoria. If you like black type, this pedigree has it in spades. Rapid Rose is a half-sister to stakes performers Elusive River and Rivatorio, while new stallion and Group 1 winner Captivant also features on the page.
