Lot 472 – Exceedance x Sneaky Island Colt

Purchased at the Melbourne Premier Sale from Blue Gum Farm

We are thrilled to announce the purchase of this exceptional colt, Lot 472, from the renowned Blue Gum Farm draft at the Melbourne Premier Sale. This striking bay or brown colt was foaled on October 27, 2023, and is by Exceedance, the son of the legendary Exceed and Excel, out of the Pierro-bred mare Sneaky Island.

Physical Type and Potential

Jason Warren, after inspecting the colt both at Blue Gum Farm and again at the sale, was highly impressed by his physical attributes and movement, ranking him as one of the best he has seen this season. A short coupled, strong sprinting type, this colt moves with purpose. We believe he will improve with his development, and with Exceedance’s success already in its second season, we have high expectations for this young prospect.

 

By Exceedance – A Stallion on the Rise

Exceedance, a Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes winner, has already shown great promise with his progeny, despite them only being in their second season of racing. We have had a Blue Diamond runner for him the last two years with Eden Rose and Flyer, both showing exciting potential. Jason has enjoyed success with Exceedance’s progeny, including the promising Group 3 winner Flyer currently in the stable. This colt’s pedigree and physical traits align closely with Flyer, which further excites us about his future prospects.

 

Sneaky Island – A Promising Broodmare

The colt is out of Sneaky Island, a mare by Pierro, one of the most respected broodmare sires in Australia. Pierro has made a significant impact as a sire of successful racehorses, and his daughters are proving to be valuable as broodmares. This colt is her first foal, and we are confident he will follow in the footsteps of his remarkable pedigree. The mare’s lineage includes stakes performers, and her offspring show great promise.
