Cracking Ghaiyyath Filly to be targeted at Karaka Millions 2027!!

The nicest Ghaiyyath yearling to go through the ring this year, this filly was universally admired and the source of frenzied bidding activity. We had to be strong and stave off several of Australia’s leading trainers in order to purchase her, however strong we were and we look forward to her racing career unfolding in the not too distant future, initially in New Zealand before being transferred to Australia for her 3yo season.

From 33 Australian runners to date, Ghaiyyath has produced 13 individual winners including four individual stakes winners, that’s more than any of his second season compatriots including Ole Kirk (2), Bivouac (2), Farnan (1), Wootton Bassett (2), Tagaloa (2), King’s Legacy (0), Earthlight (1), Lucky Vega (0) etc. He can clearly get an elite staying horse, as evidenced by his stakes winners to date - Observer (G1 VRC Derby 2500m), Different Gravy (LR VRC TAB Trophy 1800m), Freedom Flame (LR SAJC Hill Smith S 1800m) and Yum (LR MRC Jim Moloney S 1400m).

 

In this filly however, we believe we’ve managed to secure a sharper, earlier model of Ghaiyyath with the fact she’s out of a Not a Single Doubt mare a major contributing factor. So much so, we’ve decided to leave the filly in New Zealand with Champion trainer Tony Pike to target 2yo races including the 2027 Karaka Millions, with the intention of transferring her back to Australia for races over a bit further once she turns three. She’s obviously been nominated of the Karaka Millions Race Series however is also fully nominated for VOBIS Gold, Silver and Platinum bonuses so we’ve got plenty to look forward to once she hits the track.  

 

The filly will spell at Hallmark Stud for a month prior to entering Tony’s system and being broken in. She truly is a star and we are thrilled to have her in the stable, with her stocks likely to rise over coming years with those of her sire.
