Purchased in conjunction with OTI, GOLDEN TRIGGER is an exciting middle-distance prospect who looks tailor made for Australian conditions.



Placed at all four starts to date in Ireland, including a strong Maiden win at Dundalk, GOLDEN TRIGGER arrives in Australia late July a lightly raced, progressive middle-distance prospect with a highly competitive rating in the mid 60’s. At all his starts to date he’s shown good early speed to race on pace, then given a strong kick late in his races. Most recently in a highly competitive 3yo Handicap at the Curragh, when carrying 6kg and 2kg more respectively than the two horses finishing in front of him, he stuck to his guns well in only being beaten half a length. His tactical speed and strength at the end of his races suggest he’ll get out over further in Australia, and he profiles beautifully as a horse who can work through his grades with relative ease.

Almost without exception, Ghaiyyath’s best progeny in the southern hemisphere have been out of fast, Australian bred mares, which seems to work particularly well with sons of Dubawi, and makes this horse so attractive.

GOLDEN TRIGGER will enter quarantine in the UK 2^nd July, arrive in Australia 21^st July and be at our stable in Ballarat post-quarantine on 4^th August. Inclusive of purchase price, agent’s commission, vetting, flights, quarantine in Australia and insurance to July 31^st 2026, the horse is valued at AUD $348k+GST.
