THE GOLDEN CROSS - POWER & SPEED

The team at Stokes Racing is ecstatic to have secured the half-sister to Snow Mercy at the Inglis Premier sale.

Sired by Grunt, a dual Group 1 winner of the Australian Guineas and Makybe Diva Stakes, he is recognized as the first Australian stallion in over a decade to sire a WFA Group 1-winning 3yo from his first crop, Veight.

Grunt imparts size, scope, and a devastating turn of foot at the mile and he is showing plenty of versatility, having produced Group 1 VRC Oaks winner, Strictly Business.

The dam, Snow Surrender (by Sepoy), is a half-sister to the Listed winner Adelong. She has a consistent track record of producing winners and high-value progeny including Snow Mercy.

She hails from an elite family featuring Stakes winners Snowland, Portillo, Ghisoni and Snippetson.

This filly is bred based on a Golden Cross of Grunt x Sepoy, a specific genetic compatibility that boasts a 100% Winners-to-Runners' strike rate. This mating is designed to inject the raw, sprinting muscle of Golden Slipper winner Sepoy, into the frame of Australian Guineas winner Grunt, creating an athlete capable of sustaining high cruising speeds.

The value of this filly is underpinned by her half-sister, our own Snow Mercy. With a Group 3 winner already on the page, the residual broodmare value of this filly is significantly protected, regardless of her racetrack performance.

Phillip and the team cannot wait to take this filly under their wings.
