This handsome colt by Peltzer stood out not only for his striking colour but his sheer physical presence in the ring. An August foal, he is well developed, athletic and oozes class. He demonstrated a take it all in my stride attitude around the sales complex and was loved from the first inspection by our bloodstock guru John Price. Peltzer is by the champion So You Think and was precocious enough to win three times as a two year old. He improved as a three year old to land the Group 2 Stan Fox before winning the $1 million Bondi Stakes. Like the best of the So You Think bred he was neat in size and naturally athletic like our colt. His progeny are now delivering race day and this son of a champion looks set to make his mark at stud.

The dam Our Emily Mia is by Reset and she won five times on the tough Victorian circuit. Reset has been a prolific influence in the breeding barn with 22 stakes winners as a broodmare sire. This years Thousand Guineas Winner Another Prophet, WATC Derby winner Alaskan God and the exceptional mare Houtzen, all products of Reset broodmares. The second dam Our Heather produced one of the greatest greys of modern Australian racing in Linton. He topped his $2 million winning career with victory in the 2013 Stradbroke, this is back in the day when winning $2 million was a huge achievement.

He heads to Aaron Bain and Ned Taylor and to the most prestigious training centre in South Australia in Angaston Park. This training duo are having a break out season, they comfortably sit in the top ten trainers in the state and their strike rate of 18.50% is exceptional. We are thrilled to be joining such a progressive and enthusiastic young training duo.

Trainer and horse are spot on and the pedigree matches as a 20/20 with our preferred pedigree matrix G1 Goldmines. The aptitude profile suggests he will be at his best over a mile and that’s the horse he strikes us as. It’s a 20/20 match and is a similar cross to Dundeel, Think it Over, Nimlee and Princess Jenni.
