We are excited to welcome another Shalaa to the stable - that consistent and classy stallion the sire of our Gr.1 Moir Stakes winner Mornington Glory and our recent Gr.3 Matron Stakes winner Jennilala.

A brilliant and fast winner of the Gr.1 Middle Park Stakes and Gr.1 Prix Morny, Shalaa is doing such a great job as the sire of another 16 stakes winners and he fares particularly well in this part of the world with a southern hemisphere strike rate of 63.9%.

Not only is this colt by a proven stallion - he is also out of a proven broodmare with the stakes winner M'Lady Pedrille represented by three winners from her first four runners.

A mare with talent and pace, M'Lady Pedrille led throughout to take out the Listed Reginald Allen at Randwick - a race in which the dual Gr.1 winner Secret Admirer was third.

It didn't take long for this stakes winner to produce a stakes winner with M'Lady Pedrille's second live foal being the Listed Heritage Stakes winner Ragged Rascal.

M'Lady Pedrille is one of the eight winners produced by the very classy broodmare Damzelle Pedrille, also dam of the G1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes winner Diamond Drille and the Listed winner Madame Pedrille.

Damzelle Pedrille is a full sister to the triple Group winner Mamzelle Pedrille (dam of the record-breaking Gr.2 Chelmsford Stakes winner O'Lonhro) and a 3/4 sister to Cannarelle. That mare may be unraced but she is certainly worth a mention as she produced - by Shalaa's sire Invincible Spirit - the superstar stallion I Am Invincible.

I Am Invincible picks up exceptionally well on strains of his own family (Imperatriz one fine example) and his influential ancestress Prunella is also ancestress of Shalaa.

Bred on the same Shalaa/Danehill cross as Mornington Glory and fellow Shalaa Gr.1 winner No Speak Alexander, this colt also has broodmare sire strength with the regally bred Gr.1 Australian Guineas winner Al Maher (a 3/4 brother to Redoute's Choice) doing very well as a broodmare sire with 12 stakes winners.
