One of the outstanding stallion Fastnet Rock's best sons, the dual Group winning Smart Missile - whose three wins at stakes level came from just six starts - has proven to be a classy and reliable stallion.

Boasting a very good 68.8% winners-to-runners strike rate, the regally bred Smart Missile has been well represented by 27 stakes winners including the Gr.1 gallopers Briasa (too good for Overpass in this year's T.J Smith Stakes at Randwick) and Maid Of Heaven.

Another 35 of his sons and daughters are stakes placed whilst another 138 are metropolitan winners.

Racing a horse by Smart Missile gives you a great chance to get into the winner's circle with 34.5% of his winners being at least city class!

This colt's dam Blue Angel had just a short career but she showed plenty of natural talent, at her debut catching the eye with a fast finishing second off a slow start - splitting subsequent winners; beaten by Magnetic who went on to win another seven races.

Again right in the thick of things at her second outing, Blue Angel was retired to stud without getting to show her best but she had ability to pass on and we have her first very nice son Haloed (by Hallowed Crown) in the stable.

This fellow is her second foal and he is bred along proven lines - the same Smart Missile/Shirley Heights cross as the record breaking Gr.3 winner Ballistic Boy and a Smart Missile/Zabeel combination which boasts a  72.4% strike rate; producing four stakes winners.

A daughter of the Gr.1 French Derby and Gr.1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes winner Reliable Man who already has a very promising one as a broodmare sire - the recent stakes winner Matahga - Blue Angel is a half-sister to the multiple city winner Bertucci and to the dams of the Gr.2 sprinter Swiss Exile and the Listed winner Presence.

A full sister to the Listed winner Zauberin, Blue Angel's dam is a granddaughter of the wonderful mare Skating.

The winner of seven races including the Gr.1 Doncaster Handicap, the Gr.1 Winfield (Coolmore) Classic and four other Group races, she also did the job at stud with ten of her 11 named foals being winners.

Seven of those earned black-type including the stakes winners Murtajill, Sunset Run and Bradbury's Luck and she is also ancestress of the Gr.1 winners Vancouver (Golden Slipper) and Juste Momente (Robert Sangster Stakes) and of the Group winners Tenley and Biscayne Bay.
