Stunning Super Seth Colt

Without doubt one of the stars of the New Zealand breeding scene, Super Seth has produced four individual Group One winners and a further four stakes winners from his first two crops to date. Two of those progeny, Feroce and Super Photon, are colts out of O’Reilly mares, just like our colt purchased this week from the Pencarrow Stud consignment at Karaka.  

 

The colt’s dam, Skywards, is out of New Zealand Filly of the Year Sawatch, who is in turn out of one of the better filly’s Australasia has seen over the last 50 years in Riverina Charm (Sir Tristram). While ‘unlucky in love’ so to speak with a number of her progeny not making it to the track, Skywards has the unique distinction of producing a decent, stakes class horse by Vadamos, who’s performances in the breeding barn leave a lot to be desired. There are also good wraps on the mare’s yearling from last year by Ace High, now in work with Joe Pride.

The colt’s got plenty to recommend him on pedigree, comes from one of the most successful studs in the Southern Hemisphere and is going to develop into a beautiful 3yo around the 1400-1600m mark. He’ll spell in New Zealand for six weeks prior to being flown to Australia to be broken in.
