After purchasing the Toronado x Maha filly at Magic Millions, we doubled down at this years Melbourne Premier Sale securing Lot 433 - TORONADO x ASCERTAIN for $60,000.

"He is the best sire in Victoria and stands for $88,000 for a reason - he is a proven Group 1 producer and in an industry which is increasingly getter more competitive, buying yearlings by established stallions is a shrewd investment in my opinion" explained Charlotte

Physically, she is powerful and well built for a Toronado and has a classy head. Pedigree wise, she is out of a fast young American mare who was 4th in a Listed Race and clearly had good ability. 

Most of the good Toronado fillies and mares have an ability to sprint and this girl looks no different. She looks sharp, comes with good muscle, depth through her shoulder and power through her quarters. On top of that, the American blood should ensure she has speed with the first dam, second dam and third dam all winners over 1200m. 

We had a budget for $120,000 so to steal her for $60,000 was fantastic for our owners. She has Low Risk X-rays and a Grade 1 Scope. 

Toronado is having another fantastic year. His colts are highly sort after in Hong Kong which leaves his fillies doing the job here in Australia. In this current season, he has already had six filly and mare black type performers including:

• Snow Mercy - G3 winner in Victoria
• Toropa - Stakes winner in Western Australia
• Confesara - Stakes placed in NZ
• ExtraTwo - Group placed in Victoria
• Vestas - Group p[laced in Victoria
